INTERNATIONAL MEETING OF THE OMCC - CIENFUEGOS – CUBA - 17 and 18 June 2016

CONCLUSIONS

Gathered in Cienfuegos-Cuba the four International Groups and the Executive Committee of the OMCC, after two days of work, the present agreed by consensus the following conclusions:

1 – It was with great joy that we met in Cuba, where, in 1998, after the visit of the Pope's Saint John Paul II, took place the first Cursillos in this country, in the diocese of Cienfuegos where since then there have been almost 100 Cursillos and thousands of people had the opportunity to meet with Christ and His Church.
We pray to the Lord that, with everyone's work and the help of the Holy Spirit, quickly Cursillos expand through the rest of this country and its wonderful people.

V World Ultreya
4,5 and 6 - May - 2017

“Is the hour of Cursillos”

“He who has ears to hear, let him hear!” (Mt 11, 15)

« The Cursillos Movement (CM/MCC) was born in the forties of last century, one of the most turbulent periods in the History of Mankind, in a Europe devastated by war, in a world troubled by clutter, and avid of peace and more and more ignorant of the things of God.
In such era, Cursillos were an adequate response to the challenges that Europe was living then, especially in front of the growing De-Christianization that occurred along those days’ time.
It was not an easy task, and not always well understood, even within the Church, because the CM for those years was avant-garde (and as we all know, vanguard must to renew and to this must to be revolutionary).
The CM anticipated, in advance of many years, much of what came to become reality in the Church by the Council Vatican II. It was forefront, so it grew and gave fruit.

GECC ENCOUNTER – Freinsing (Germany)

SOME NOTES FROM THE GECC ENCOUNTER IN FREISING, 2016

Date: We met from the 7th to the 10th of April, at Easter time. Perhaps it wasn´t a coincidence, we were called to meet as we were celebrating the triumph of the Risen Lord. Our movement has to be united in Him, we confront our mission from Him, we walk towards others with Him…

The venue: Freising, original home of the actual diocese Freising-Munich. A small old town, very nice, a few kilometers from the large town of Munich. It also has the oldest brewery in the world! We stayed at the Pallotti Hauss, house of the Pallottine family, founded by Vincent Pallotti, an italian priest, in the nineteenth century.

Participants: 47 leaders of 11 National Secretariats from the GECC. Germany, Austria, Croatia, Spain Gibraltar, Holland, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Portugal and the Czech Republic. The big news was the participation for the first time in a GECC Encounter of CM in South Africa, our sister and brother Karon and Rob. Thanks to the generosity of Cursillistas from Munich, who paid the long trip from South Africa, we could enjoy their presence, their enthusiasm for the CM, the beautiful journey that our Movement is tracing in Africa at this moment…

Let's help the CM to spread in Africa!
If we all want we will get teams and means to perform more Cursillos in Africa and in others places in the World where
the CM has not yet arrived.
Volunteers are required to form teams and money to organize and perform Cursillos in a continent eager to God.
Help with your prayer and sacrifice, but it is also very necessary to the monetary support.
We just ask that each one contribute with a monetary unit in your country (1 euro, 1 dollar, 1 pound, 1 ...).
Together we are millions!

FUNDAMENTAL IDEAS – “Official expression of the MCC”

Reflection of the Executive Committee of the OMCC’s President on the redrafting of Fundamental Ideas presented at the meeting of GECC in Freising-Munich-Germany, in the first week of April 2016:

The book:

The Cursillo Movement was born in the 1940s, in Palma de Mallorca, in one of the most turbulent periods in the history of mankind, in a Europe ravaged by the war, in a world full of disorder, with eager for peace, and every time more ignorance of the things of God.

During the first decades the movement grew and was implemented in the five continents, in over fifty countries.
(Today it is present and active in more than 58 countries) However, in the III World Encounter, held in Majorca in 1972, because of the differences and divergences in the CM objectives, it led to the idea and then publication in 1974, of a first version of the "Fundamental Ideas".

This month, based on the "Glossary" of the new Fundamental Ideals, let's review the meaning of some of the most important words in the MCC

CHARISM
A Grace of the Holy Spirit, which empowers those who receive it to build up the Church, to the good of men and to the needs of the world (CCC 799). “Charisms are to be accepted with gratitude by the person who receives them and by all members of the Church as well. They are a wonderfully rich grace for the apostolic vitality and for the holiness of the entire Body of Christ” (CCC 800). Judgment about their authenticity rests with the shepherds who have authority in the Church (cf. LG 12).

MCC, a bit of history...

It is necessary for us to know our own history to recognize maintain and update our identity,“to remember the past with gratitude, to live the present with enthusiasm, and look forward to the future with confidence”. It is a way to grow in unity and to respond to the necessary renewal that God’s Spirit inspires according to the needs of men and women of our world today.

In Portugal in the city of Oporto on the last October 8 th, occurred the World presentation of the book Fundamental Ideas of the CM with an audience of more than 700 people.
The ceremony was live broadcast over the web and can be seen on the websites of the OMCC (www.orgmcc.org) and Paulus Editora (www.paulus.pt/omcc) with translation in Spanish, English and Portuguese languages.

All over the World the month of May is dedicated to the Virgin Mary. In Portugal this devotion is assumed in a very deep way.
At the feet of Mary every Christian put their concerns, their problems and requests.

We hope that each one book on its agenda the day May 6, 2017, so everyone can be present at Fatima on the V WORLD ULTREYA!

With an organization that joined the GECC and the Italian National Secretariat, which celebrate its 50th anniversary, the III European Ultreya occurred in Rome from 30 April to 1 May.
These were days of great emotion and encounter between “cursillistas” from all countries of Europe where the CM is present and some representatives of several countries of North America and Latin America.

THE NEWSLETTER RESTART TO BE MONTHLY

Dear Friends and Brothers
At the meeting of the World Organisation held at Fatima last September, at the suggestion of the International Groups, the OMCC newsletter is published monthly from the beginning of 2015.

Easter is the central moment of our faith: Jesus conquers death and sin.
It’s open to all mankind a new time where we can live according to God's dream.
He defeated all the forces that were preventing a truly human and happy life.
Throughout these fifty days, from Easter to Pentecost, we praise to God for the beautiful things He did in Jesus and in our lives.
We strengthen our faith in this wonderful God.
We want that the strength of this experiment go shaping our life.
A Holy Easter to all!

WORDS OF THE SPIRITUAL ADVISER OF THE EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE

Speech given by Mons. Francisco Senra Coelho, Spiritual Advisor of the OMCC’s Executive Committee when was the world presentation of the book Fundamental Ideas.

For being an historical moment, an important one that transcends the domestic dimension of our movement, my reflection goes with a church concern. A charisma is always a gift from God, to serve the brothers, the Church. When it is a foundational charism it bears with it very concrete contours, institutional and communitary. It is usually connected to the needed renewal of the Church, taking it once again to the Gospel and to the saving service of mankind. It has always been like this, since its beginning. The martyrs took the charisma of the fidelity to Christ so seriously that they’ve marked the spirituality of Christianity forever.

Once more, our newsletter count with the collaboration of one International Group. This collaboration will nrich the content and permit a greater proximity of all ursilhistas to the structures that represent them.
In this edition we will have the NACG's contribution that below publish.

As it was announced, our newsletter , from this month on, will count with the collaboration of the International Groups. This collaboration will enrich the content and permit a greater proximity of all cursilhistas to the structures that represent them. In this edition we will have the GECC's contribution that below publish.

The Pontificium Concilium pro Laicis (PCL), the Holy See's agency responsible for the guardianship of the
action of the laity in the Church, organizes every eight years a Congress which brings together the most
important and significant secular movements and new communities from the entire world.

September was a very important month for the World Organization and the entire Movement, as in Fatima, on 12 and 13, held a meeting with the International Groups which were transmitted most important informations and taken decisions that will steer the MCC in the coming years.
